Clinical Director
Professor Amy Rigby
Respcair was founded by Professor Amy Rigby, a passionate Respiratory specialist with international qualifications in advanced sleep and respiratory medicine.
Prof Rigby graduated from the University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2004, and went on to complete her specialist respiratory training within the largest training hospitals in Sydney - the Royal Prince Alfred and St Vincent’s hospitals.
With a subspecialty in lung transplantation medicine, she became the youngest female consultant appointed to the prestigious State Heart & Lung Transplant Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.
Prof. Rigby's career has been global in scope. She earned her Master's in Public Health from the University of Piemonte, Italy, while gaining additional experience at Cambridge University Hospital and Royal Papworth Hospital.
In recognition of her significant contributions to teaching and research, in 2021 she was appointed to the role of Associate Clinical Professor at University College Dublin.
In 2023, Prof Rigby was appointed Clinical Director of Medicine at Blackrock Clinic, Dublin, the largest private hospital in Ireland.
Prof. Rigby’s special interests include asthma, lung cancer, and the evolving field of precision medicine.
